Its 8th hole looks down over the largest heronry in Wales. Its unique signature hole, The Island Green (12th), is ranked one of UK golf courses top golf holes.

The par 73 Wales National Golf Course, opened in June 2003 by Great Britain Olympic gold medalist Sir Steve Redgrave, has already hosted Europro and Challenge Tour events and was the venue for the Sky-televised FIRSTPLUS Wales Seniors Open in June 2006 and the Wales Challenge Tour in 2007.
