Round of 18 Holes incl Shared Cart @ Amelia River Course
Amelia River (formerly Royal Amelia) is renowned as one of the best-conditioned courses in the area with incredibly smooth TifEagle greens, sculpted around a forest of majestic live oaks, sabal palms, pines and wax myrtles. This par 72 track, designed by Tom Jackson, which plays to a yardage of 6,823 from the back tees, is always in pristine shape with well-manicured rolling fairways, smooth bunkers and greens that challenge all skill levels. This course is unique in character and is a treat to play. Amelia River consists of 18-holes of challenging golf where ball control and accuracy are keys to a great game. The first hole at Amelia River is located along the border of the Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport, as are #5 and #13. These fairways are wide and open giving the golfer a sense of a traditional Scottish links course. Enjoy these holes while you can because the rest contain individual and groups of trees that, while adding beauty to the course, require cautious ball placement. The 6th hole is a good example of the courses challenges. The landing area off the tee is very wide, however, an uphill fairway requires a blind shot. At the top of this hill, a group of trees on the left calls for a high and long shot to reach the green. To add to the challenge there are four bunkers along the front and left of the green. Large greens and rolling fairways are a trademark of Amelia River. The par five 13th hole is remarkable for its tranquil beauty. The par four 14th hole presents the more skilled golfer with a tantalizing risk-reward proposition; there is water all the way from the tee box to the green requiring either a long shot to the green or a conservative shot to the right on the open fairway and then there are three bunkers protecting the green. Our signature 17th hole is a par three surrounded by water demanding an accurate shot to the island green. The final hole ends at the edge of the Amelia River and its expansive tidal marsh.
Round of 18 Holes incl Shared Cart @ Oak Marsh Course
Oak Marsh The Oak Marsh Golf Course is one of the truly classic Pete Dye designed golf courses in the world. The course, built in 1972 shortly after the completion of the Harbour Town Golf Links at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, is noted for its tight fairways and small greens, meandering along serpentine salt marsh creeks and through the moss draped heritage oaks that Amelia Island is famous for. At par 72, this 6,500 yard course has fourteen holes with water hazards and numerous bulkheaded greens. A variety of bunkers are placed throughout the course to add to the challenge and a natural approach has been maintained as well with the use of coquina shell cart paths, native plant life and preserved habitats for the local wildlife. Walking is allowed after 4:00 pm. Oak Marsh played host to the 1991 PGA Section Championship and 1992 Society of Seniors Championship. In addition, numerous resort tournaments are played here as well. Oak Marsh has been included in Golf Digests prestigious list of the "Top 75 Resort Courses in the U.S." and Amelia Island Plantation is a Golf Magazine "1996-2004 Silver Medal Golf Resort". Oak Marsh was also selected by Travel & Leisure golf as one of the "Floridas 50 Finest Courses."
Winding along a coastal Atlantic dune ridge, Ocean Links #4, #5, #6, #15 and #16 provide golfers with five oceanfront golf holes. The fairways and greens are parallel to the beaches of Amelia Island and meander through a unique coastal maritime hammock. This close proximity to the ocean and the ever changing sea breeze provide the golfer with exhilarating views and intriguing play Ocean Links has 10 holes that feature lagoons and marsh wetlands in addition to concluding with a par three whose green is strategically placed in the waters of Red Maple Lake The course winds through six miles of the natural sand dunes and seaside terrain that make Amelia Island so special It can be said that this is as much a nature tour as it is a round of golf The course yardage of 6,300 yards is somewhat deceiving since small greens, narrow fairways and prevailing winds make the course play much longer At par 70, this 18 hole combination provides a challenge to golfers of all levels.
