Jekyll Island Club Hotel, USA

Jekyll Island Club Hotel Jekyll Island - Georgia

The Jekyll Island Club went into decline after World War 1, followed by the great “Depression” and in 1957 the whole island became a public State Park. More recently several Club properties, leased from the state of Georgia by an investment firm, have been restored and transformed into one of the finest luxury getaway hotels in America, the Jekyll Island Club Hotel. Restored to its Former Grandeur Guests visiting the Jekyll Island Club Hotel today may have dinner in the Grand Dining Room where former members enjoyed each others company and exquisitely prepared meals. Over delicate entrée and the perfect wine, they made significant decisions, admired the rooms beautiful leaded art glass and classical details, and vied for social position. The room suggests a visit to the Club for the “season” in the early 1900s. This is unquestionably a unique resort destination, a living landmark of historical interest and intrigue. Rooms are tastefully furnished in Victorian elegance, and are located in the main building, the annex and some of the original cottages, now restored.
