France NormandyThe area runs from Dieppe in the north, along the coast where the D Day landings took place, and on to the Cherbourg peninsula. Inland it is mainly rural areas with dairy farming which produces many fine cheeses, and cider, a major flavour in Normandy cuisine. The largest town is Rouen, and the area has many famous places to visit, including Bayeux, Omaha Beach and picturesque Honfleur.
