Indian Mound Course Jekyll Island - GeorgiaJoe Lee mapped out this 18-hole challenge in 1975 with his trademark fairway bunkers strategically situated . The course plays through some of Jekyll Islands most pristine lakes and marshes. Lee named it Indian Mounds after the large oyster shell middens deposited by aboriginal tribes hundreds of years prior to settlement by Europeans. Indian Mound, like Jekylls other courses, is free of residential or commercial development, and as such provides the golfer with a delightful confluence of wild flora and fauna.
